On July 23rd, a Boeing 747 all cargo plane carrying 88 tons of daily necessities such as clothing and accessories was efficiently inspected and released by the customs at Urumqi Tianshan Airport, and successfully departed for East Midlands Airport in the UK. This marks the successful maiden voyage of the Urumqi to Derby freight route, becoming the fourth air freight channel from Xinjiang to the UK, adding new vitality to China UK economic and trade exchanges.

Prior to this, Xinjiang had opened three cargo routes to the UK, connecting Bournemouth, Cardiff, and London Stansted. To ensure the smooth operation of the new route, Tianshan Airport Customs has taken multiple measures: actively communicating with airlines to carry out policy lectures, and providing detailed information on policies that benefit enterprises such as bonded aviation oil; Innovatively implementing the "one enterprise, one policy" regulatory plan, providing convenient services such as round the clock appointment for customs clearance and on-site inspection; Establish a cross departmental collaboration mechanism to achieve real-time sharing of flight dynamics and cargo information, forming a joint guarantee force. In the first half of this year, the passenger and freight volume of Urumqi Tianshan International Airport both exceeded historical peaks, and the international aviation hub function was further enhanced. According to the Urumqi Exit Entry Border Inspection Station, as of July 23, the number of inbound and outbound personnel at Urumqi Tianshan International Airport this year has reached over 530000, a year-on-year increase of 66%; More than 2800 inbound and outbound cargo flights were guaranteed, with a year-on-year increase of 543%. The international cargo throughput exceeded 54000 tons, with a year-on-year increase of 635%. According to statistics, Urumqi International Airport has established an air logistics network that radiates Asia, Europe, and Africa, opening 24 international cargo routes covering more than 20 international cities. Among them, there are 14 European routes, basically achieving full coverage of major hubs in Eastern Europe, Northern Europe, and Western Europe. The six newly added European routes since the beginning of this year have not only improved Urumqi's air cargo layout, but also significantly enhanced Xinjiang's hub position in the international logistics system.
