On the morning of May 26th, the inaugural ceremony of Liaoning Port Group's "Dalian Middle East" (SHIKRA) container route was held at Dalian Container Terminal. The official opening of this route fills the gap in direct shipping from Dalian Port to the Middle East, completely filling the gap in direct shipping services from the local area to the Middle East. At the same time, it significantly upgrades the direct shipping service capability from Dalian to the India Pakistan region, and writes a new chapter in the construction of the Northeast Maritime Foreign Trade Corridor.

This high-quality ocean route is jointly built by Liaogang Group and Mediterranean Shipping, with strong capacity configuration and efficient route planning. The route will deploy 8 large container ships with a capacity of 20000 to 24000 TEUs, providing direct access to core ports in the Middle East and India Pakistan regions such as India, Pakistan, the United Arab Emirates, and Oman. Compared with traditional transit shipping routes, the new route shortens the voyage by at least 10 days, significantly reduces the freight time, effectively avoids the uncertainty of transit links, effectively reduces the comprehensive logistics costs of foreign trade enterprises, and improves the stability and efficiency of cross-border logistics supply chains.
The landing and operation of the route has built an efficient and convenient channel for the advantageous industries in the Northeast hinterland to go abroad. The main export products of Northeast China, such as grain, chemical products, mechanical and electrical equipment, and automotive parts, can directly reach the Middle East and India Pakistan markets without the need for multiple transfers, greatly expanding the overseas sales channels of regional products. Stable direct shipping capacity, accurately matching the logistics needs of Northeast manufacturing and agricultural and sideline product exports, providing solid support for enterprises to explore international markets.
As an important maritime bridge connecting Northeast China with the Middle East, India and Pakistan markets, this route further opens up the logistics network for Northeast China's opening up to the outside world, deepening regional economic and trade exchanges and industrial cooperation. In the future, the route will continue to release its advantages as a shipping hub, activate the vitality of Northeast China's foreign trade, help Northeast China better integrate into the global trade system, and empower the high-quality development of the region's outward oriented economy.
